Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Film Festival!
We
are so proud, honored, and excited for the Corrigan-Goddard Foundation to present the
2018 Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Film Festival event benefiting Sons of the Flag. This Veterans Day weekend, we will honor our nation's finest: our Military, Veterans, and First Responders, and we would love for you to be part of the celebration.
Please
mark your calendars for our fabulous event to be held on Thursday, November 8th at Brook Hollow Country Club. The Film Festival will be held at Highland Park Village
Theater. This Fifth Annual event will celebrate and honor our nation's
Veterans, current Military Personnel and
First-Responders.
We have an AMAZING keynote speaker lined up…and we have no doubt that we will sell out the luncheon quickly….you will want to be a part of this very special day! This year, we will welcome Green Beret
Commander, Mark Nutsch who was the main subject of the film, “12 Strong”,
released last year in which he was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth. Commander
Nutsch led his team in a declassified mission that helped overthrow the
Taliban. We will screen the movie, “12 Strong” as a thank you to our host
committee and sponsors, and Commander Nutsch will participate in a Q&A the prior evening (Wednesday, November 7th).
Sons
of the Flag is a non-profit organization, founded by former Navy SEAL Ryan
"Birdman" Parrott, and is committed to supporting Veteran,
Active-Duty Military, and First-Responder Burn Survivors through funding for
Medical Fellowships, funding for Burn Unit needs across the country, including
our very own Parkland Hospital, and direct assistance to Burn Survivors and
their families.
This
year, we are so proud to share with you our newest direct survivor program
called, Mission: Reconstruct Freedom. We have assembled a stellar team of
reconstructive surgeons that specialize in burn care and we are sending one
veteran or first responder at a time to have a day-long surgery that provides a
holistic approach to focusing on all of their needs. This will enhance the
quality of life for these burn survivors and will provide some with the
necessary reconstructive repairs to return to the workforce. We truly
appreciate our donors for making this program possible through our fundraising
efforts.
A huge THANK YOU to the Corrigan-Goddard Foundation for their generosity and friendship.
